Privacy policy

How TINT N OUT LLC collects, uses, shares and protects the information you give us on https://www.tintnoutmotors.com and at our dealership.

Last updated: September 29, 2026

1. Who we are and what this policy covers

TINT N OUT LLC ("TINT N OUT", "we", "us") is an independent used-car dealer at 7530 Folsom-Auburn Rd, Folsom, CA 95630. This policy explains what personal information we collect through our website https://www.tintnoutmotors.com (the "site"), why we collect it, who we share it with, how long we keep it and the choices and rights you have.

This policy is effective as of September 29, 2026. It applies to information collected through the site and to the follow-up conversations we have with you about a request you sent us. It does not apply to websites of other companies that we link to, such as lenders or map services; their own privacy policies apply there.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us in our forms. When you ask for a quote, check whether a car is available, send a message from the Contact page or use Car Finder, we collect:

  • your first and last name, phone number and e-mail address;
  • how you prefer to be contacted (phone or e-mail);
  • the vehicle you are asking about, your message, and for Car Finder the make, model, years, body type, price and mileage you are looking for;
  • the page you sent the form from.

Information in a credit application. When you apply for financing on the Apply Online page, we collect, for you and for a co-buyer if you add one:

  • name, e-mail address, cell phone and home phone;
  • date of birth and Social Security number;
  • driver's license number, issuing state, issue and expiration dates (optional);
  • home address, how long you have lived there, whether you rent or own, and your monthly housing payment;
  • employer, job title, employer phone, how long you have worked there, monthly income, and other income and its source;
  • the vehicle you are applying for, if you started from a vehicle page, and your consent to a credit check.

Information collected automatically. Like any website, our server receives technical information with each request: your IP address, browser type, the pages you open and the time of the request. We use it to deliver the site, keep it secure and stop abuse. For spam and rate limiting we store a one-way hashed form of your IP address, not the address itself, for a short time. When you open a vehicle page we count one view of that car; the count is not linked to you.

Information from other sources. If you apply for credit, the lenders we send your application to may give us their decision and the terms they offer. Vehicle details on the site come from us and from third-party data services, not from you.

3. Cookies and browser storage

We keep this simple and do not use analytics, advertising or social media tracking tools on the site. Today the site uses:

  • a session cookie for our own staff when they sign in to the site's administration area. Visitors who do not sign in do not receive it;
  • your browser's local storage to remember the cars you picked to compare, so the list survives moving between pages;
  • your browser's session storage to remember your last inventory search, so the "back to results" link returns you to the same list. It is cleared when you close the tab.

This stored data stays in your browser; we do not read it on our server. You can clear it at any time in your browser settings.

If we switch on Google reCAPTCHA to block spam on our forms, Google will receive technical information from your browser (and may set its own cookies) when a form is loaded, under Google's privacy policy and terms. If we ever add analytics or advertising tools, we will update this policy first.

4. How we use your information

We use personal information only for the purposes below:

  • to answer your request: send a quote, confirm availability, reply to your message or look for the car you described;
  • to contact you the way you asked, and to schedule a visit or a test drive;
  • to process a credit application: review it, send it to lenders and tell you the outcome;
  • to complete a purchase, including the paperwork required by law;
  • to keep the site and our records secure, prevent fraud and spam, and fix problems;
  • to meet our legal, tax and regulatory obligations and to protect our rights.

We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not send marketing e-mails unless you ask us to.

5. Credit applications and financial information

Information in a credit application is nonpublic personal information under the federal Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act (GLBA) and California's Financial Information Privacy Act, and we treat it that way:

  • the application is sent to us over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. The form does not keep your answers in your browser's storage and clears them after sending;
  • your Social Security number, date of birth and driver's license number are encrypted before they are stored in our database;
  • only authorized dealership staff can open an application, from a password-protected administration area with its own sign-in limits. Opening a full Social Security number or downloading an application is recorded in an internal log;
  • we never put your Social Security number, date of birth, license number or income in e-mails, and we will never ask you to send them by e-mail;
  • we share the application only with the banks, credit unions and finance companies we work with to get you a financing offer, and only because you asked us to and authorized a credit check when you submitted it.

Lenders who receive your application may obtain your credit report and keep your information under their own privacy notices. If a purchase is financed, you will also receive the privacy notice required by federal law.

6. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only as follows:

  • Lenders and financing sources: your credit application, with your consent, so they can decide on credit and offer terms.
  • Service providers: companies that host the site and its database, deliver our e-mails and, if switched on, protect our forms from spam. They may use the information only to provide their service to us.
  • Legal reasons: when the law requires it (for example a subpoena or a government request), to report a sale to the California Department of Motor Vehicles and tax authorities, or to protect the rights, property and safety of our customers, our business and others.
  • A business transfer: if the dealership is sold or merged, customer records may be transferred to the new owner, who must respect this policy.

We do not share information with anyone else without your permission.

7. How long we keep information

Credit applications are deleted automatically from our system after the retention period set by the dealership, which is never longer than 90 days after the application was received. Copies that you or lenders need to complete a financed purchase are kept in the deal file for as long as the law requires.

Requests from our forms (quotes, availability checks, messages and Car Finder requests) are kept as business records for as long as they are useful to serve you and to keep a record of our dealings, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. Sales records are kept for the periods required by California and federal law.

8. How we protect information

We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards suited to the kind of information we hold, including encrypted connections, encryption of the most sensitive credit application fields, access limited to authorized staff, strong passwords with optional two-factor sign-in, and limits on repeated attempts.

No website or e-mail system is completely secure. If you think your information was put at risk, contact us right away. If a security breach affects your personal information, we will notify you as required by California law.

9. Your California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, the California Consumer Privacy Act as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (together, the "CCPA") gives you these rights, to the extent the law applies to us:

  • Right to know: to ask what personal information we have collected about you, where it came from, why we use it and who we share it with, and to get a copy of it.
  • Right to delete: to ask us to delete personal information we collected from you, subject to exceptions (for example records we must keep by law or to complete a transaction you asked for).
  • Right to correct: to ask us to correct information that is inaccurate.
  • Right to opt out of sale or sharing: we do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, so there is nothing to opt out of. We have not done so in the past 12 months.
  • Right to limit the use of sensitive personal information: we use sensitive information, such as your Social Security number, only to process the credit application you asked for, which the law allows without an opt-out.
  • Right not to be treated differently for using any of these rights.

Information in credit applications that is covered by the GLBA or the California Financial Information Privacy Act is governed by those laws rather than by the CCPA.

To make a request, e-mail tintnout@gmail.com or call (916) 693-8302. We will confirm your identity by matching information you give us with our records before we act, and we will answer within the time the law allows (normally 45 days). You may use an authorized agent; we may ask for proof that the agent acts for you. California residents may also ask, once a year, how we shared personal information with third parties for their direct marketing (California Civil Code 1798.83); we do not share it for that purpose.

10. Do Not Track and opt-out signals

We do not track visitors across other websites over time, and we do not use tracking tools that follow you around the web, so the site works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal. Because we do not sell or share personal information for advertising, there is nothing for such a signal to switch off.

11. Children

The site is meant for adults who are shopping for a vehicle. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child under 16 has sent us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our practices or the law change. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated. If we make a significant change, such as starting to use analytics or sharing information in a new way, we will show a notice on the site before the change takes effect.
